Cyborg Mandala

by Bryan McGovern Wilson with Laura B. Greig, 2019

Two overlapping circles, one black and the other white, in a wooden frame. The black circle features small gold specks, the white circle features an eye over a transistor, and the overlapping space has four smaller circles.

This is an object we call the Cyborg Mandala. It is the map to our organization. Its mathematical form is a vesica piscis — two circles whose perimeters intersect each other’s centers, named for a fish’s swim bladder.

In the center are four minerals representing our values: Quartz for its oscillating electrical applications, Lapis Lazuli for its rich art history, Graphite for the written word, and Bloodstone for a reminder of the body.
