2RO078 - Smartphone Photo Tips

  1. A smartphone camera is the perfect amount of fidelity for Rookery. We built it with smartphone photos in mind.

  2. Adjust the lights. Ambient sunlight is ideal, so try to make it even, bright, and color-balanced. Flash can sometimes help, but usually makes things worse.

  3. Avoid glare, especially with glass.

  4. If it’s unavoidable and disruptive or if the object is extremely large, take multiple photos and stitch them together.

  5. Square the edges of the artwork with the edges of the photo. We recommend including the frame, considering the artwork as a 3D object.
