[5BC078] NY - Eighth Lake

DEC NY - Eighth Lake Campground
Reserve America - Eighth Lake

Hector and I drove here in June 2021, spending five days in Site 90. It’s about an hour farther away than Putnam Pond, but the drive provides many more opportunities for hiking and fishing. That part of Route 28 follows the headwaters of the Hudson River. Eighth Lake is serene, and the nearby town of Inlet is very cute.

The two loops seem like the best sites in the campground: 40-45, and 96-120. The Bug Lake trail is great. Speaking of which — the black flies were pretty bad, but mosquitoes were low and I didn’t see any ticks.
